VISIT GYMPIE REGION FOR GREAT

COUNTRY HOSPITALITY

There is plenty to see and do in our beautiful region coupled with good old fashioned country hospitality.

Our main tourist attraction is the Mary Valley Rattler Steam Train Rides and Historical Railway Station Cafe which we highly recommend for a great days outing.

There is also the Woodworks Museum and Interpretive Centre. The museum features static and working exhibits of the history of our regions rich forestry industry, along with live demonstrations.

If you are looking for dining recommendations we suggest the historic Kingston House Restaurant to celebrate a special occasion for its fine dining in a beautiful Queenslander style home. Kingston House was once the areas Private Maternity Hospital back in the early 1900's and the ghost of Dr Stanley is still occasionally seen to this day due to his mysterious sudden death.

We also recommend Gunabul Homestead and Par 3 Golf Course to enjoy a bite to eat in the cafe before you burn it all off with a fun round of golf. A great day out in the heart of Gympie on a working farm. Gunabul Homestead and Golf Course was built in 1885.

If you enjoy shopping why not take a stroll up and down our main street aka Mary Street which is lined with historical buildings mixed with a variety of modern day shopping options plus many eateries to choose from. Up the northern end of Mary Street is the Gympie RSL which we recommend for its high end fit out coupled with great food.

Every weekend you can find local markets to walk around to buy local produce. The immediate ones near the cottage are the Southside Showground Markets which are held every 2nd and 4th Sunday and the Duck Pond Markets are on the 1st, 3rd and 5th Sunday of every month.

Venture to the regions coast to enjoy dolphin feeding at Tin Can Bay and we also recommend strolling around the seaside village of Rainbow Beach and the Rainbow Beach Surf Club is great for a meal with stunning ocean views.
